The well of horniness: anything but dry
An all female "live-show" production with high camp, low brow.
BALTIMORE, Maryland - May 5th, 2015 – Holly Hughes’ The Well of Horniness is a hilarious and wild send up of the film-noir detective genre putting the focus on the women in this all-female Baltimore premiere. As director Julianne Franz says, this play is "a lust-filled lover who woos you with wit while in a full-on panic to get your clothes off”. This outrageous comedy by playwright, lesbian icon, and Iron Crow Theatre Advisory Board member Holly Hughes is sure to be sexy, funny, and with just the right amount of mania expected of a live-show with a studio audience.
A lively production with a style similar to what one would expect of watching SNL or a late-night talk show, this will be an evening at the theater filled with laughter. Full of innuendo, sexiness, and a bit of chaos, the play provides homage to the decades of past ranging from 1940's radio shows, 1960's sitcoms, and 1980's pop-culture. The story is that of the hidden world of the Tridelta Tribads, a sinister, Sapphic sorority. When one of their members gets murdered in the powder room of the Vixen’s Den Dinner Theatre, it’s up to Garnet McClit, “lady detective” to solve the case.
