DARK PLAY...WHEN CERTAIN PLAYERS KNOW THE RULES
AND OTHERS DON’T.
— 'Dark Play or Stories for Boys' by Carlos Murillo

Thematically, this season, titled ‘The Season of Dark Play’, explores through a multitude of genres and theatrical mediums the dark game play that we all partake in, either willingly or forcefully, for pleasure or survival, within the modern American experience.

For the first time ever, in addition to our three main stage performances, we're introducing a new SecondStage Series. Adding an additional two performances this year, this series will feature work from local artists to published masters with smaller, more intimate needs; all sharing the excitement and intrigue of a fresh and daring voice. But there's more! We're also committing to a yearly special event - a seasonal performance of The Rocky Horror Show, the quintessential queer theatrical experience, in October of every year.

We took great care this season to ensure a range of styles and experiences: from the infectious score by Andrew Lippa, to the poignant realism of A. Rey Pamatmat, the harrowing poetry of Suzan Lori-Parks, to the surrealist Madeline George, and the explosive, irreverent comedy of Robert O'Hara. This season, we hope to show you the renegade and unorthodox, the queer that's in all of us. This season, we're making history. Join us!
